best deejay

I've had this tune for ages now and it never ceases to grab my attention and get me into the mood for dancing. its the kind of tune that you find and don't really wanna share here so that you can play it out every now and again so it surprises people. Its so simple yet brilliant in its cleverness.

A simple beat and rolling bassline accompanied by Melodee talking about the going out with her girls to see and unnamed DJ at a hot club. Definitely a tune to get the night started.

While I'm at it I might as well include a mini-mix (with this tune included) that I put together for a set at the 'above the radar' show at sxsw last week. Its a 30 min (approx.) set...so short but I would say sweet set. Two skips in the set that I put down to computer error and please note that the term 'best deejay' was in no way a reference to my dj skills. I is a blogger not a DJ! ;)

Got a nice little treat this week from Kidda. He's got a new tune out that is really good.

The tune is VIP and features a Psycho Les (Beatnuts) collab. Kidda lays down some heavy Dj Premier style beats for Les to flow over, on the flip (if your vinyly inclined) Puma Strut’s Beathoven adds to the package with his own version adding extra breaks. Big with all of ya'll B-boys!

Madlib live mix at Chocolate City
