I have wanted to go to Cuba for many years now. I was fortunate enough to get to see the 'Buena Vista Social Club' in Dublin about 7 years ago and it was a great experience (except for the f**kers sitting behind me who kept talking all though the show!). I also got a chance to check out St.Germain (Soul Salsa Soul) on the same night so it was very eventful.
Seeing as Mr.Castro announced today that he will be steeping down as El President after his current term I thought I'd add a tune for the occasion. Who knows if it will change anything in Cuba or in America's attitude to Cuba with trade embargoes and bans on US citizens traveling to there. Land of the free?
Anyways, I digress.
Amazing music comes out of Cuba and I am sure that we don't even hear a lot of what is happening there.

A few weeks ago when Steve Jobs held an extra press conference regarding the antenna problems with the white iPhone 4, Apple published a lot of information and a few videos that showed a similar problem with it’s competitors phones.

Buena Vista Social Club is fantastic. I saw them on Manhattan's Upper West Side literally just before Compay Segundo passed away in Havana. I hadn't seen the documentary yet and, despite my naivety, was truly charmed by their performance. If there's anything else coming out of Cuba worth paying attention to, maybe you'll blog about it? Thanks for the post!
