such a big tune. truly epical. leo zero takes on Paul Weller's 'no tears to cry' and creates an 8 minute Northern Soul belter. now Paul Weller is pretty much a legend in my eyes and is one of the greatest songwriters who has been massively under-rated in many ways which is a shame yet he keeps on coming back and turing out quality. he plays SeaSessions later this year and I'd love to go see him but won't be able to unfortunately.

I think of this sound as what was going on at Blackpool's Mecca Ballroom on the Northern Soul scene - slightly disco-fied.... but this track also reminds me of Neil Diamond and Glen Campbell - it's a truly great song, and I was literally jumping round the studio with excitement when I first heard it! It was one thing to land a Paul Weller mix after being a fan for so long, but then to find out it was for such a belter of a song was mindblowing."

easter weekend

 

nice long weekend about to hit with easter fun around the corner. lovely to be writing this at 8pm and its bright outside. hopefully the good lord (RIP) will grace us with some nice weather for the weekend as we've got lots of activities to take us out of the house.

first off: mucho excited as dublin has a special guest for the weekend and that is the one and only orsii who is making her inaugural visit to Dublin. she'll be hanging with confused eclectic and myself for the weekend so hopefully she gets to see some touristy bits of dublin as well as to party with us.

so, onto said parties.

saturday night kicks off with an excellent night of music put on by all city records in twisted pepper. we are graced with the presence of floating points (see here for most recent mention) and faltydl. will be a good one all round.

sunday see's the one and only theo parrish playing one of his legendary marathon sets at the bernard shaw

if you haven't heard a theo parrish set i urge you not to miss this. i've seen many of the world's best dj's in action and i have to say that i've never seen/heard anything like him.
